The PROcompact-S is a powerful and fast attachment firewood processor for professionals who want to combine a compact machine with higher processing capacity. The machine is designed for carrier vehicles with sufficient hydraulic power and is suitable for midi excavators, loaders, tractors and comparable vehicles.
With a capacity of approximately 4–7 m³ per hour and a standard log length capacity of 4 metres, the PROcompact-S delivers high performance without compromising the compact design of the PROcompact series.

The PROcompact-S can be configured for different applications and desired firewood sizes. The machine is equipped as standard with an 8-way splitting knife, is suitable for logs up to 4 metres in length and features the SHORT/LONG function for faster sawing and splitting at shorter cutting lengths.

Technical specifications of the PROcompact-S
For larger pieces of firewood, the PROcompact-S can optionally be equipped with a 4-way splitting knife. This splits each log section into four pieces.
The splitting knife is manually adjustable and is secured in the desired position with a locking pin.

Standard equipment on the PROcompact-S.
With the SHORT/LONG function, the PROcompact-S can be adjusted to the desired firewood length. The operator can easily select between SHORT and LONG mode via the controls.
For cutting lengths of 23 to 35 cm, the machine cycle can be optimised. Depending on the selected cutting length, this allows the PROcompact-S to operate approximately 20% faster.

The desired firewood cutting length can easily be set via the controls from 23 to 50 cm. This allows the PROcompact-S to be quickly adjusted to different required firewood lengths.

The PROcompact-S is equipped with a hydraulic manifold specifically developed by BTD. The hydraulic functions, limits and settings are integrated into this manifold.
The hydraulic system is preset by BTD and configured specifically for the machine. This allows the PROcompact-S to be put into operation immediately after connection to a suitable carrier vehicle.

The PROcompact-S is equipped with a safe and user-friendly PLC control system. The machine is operated using a wireless remote control with two joysticks, allowing a single operator to control the main machine functions.
The automatic sawing and splitting cycle can be started at the push of a button. The display can be used to set parameters including the desired cutting length and the number of log sections to be processed.
The automatic machine functions are safeguarded to prevent unintended or incorrect operation from immediately causing unwanted machine movements.

The PROcompact-S is operated as standard using a wireless remote control with two joysticks. This allows a single operator to easily and clearly control the main functions of the firewood processor.
The joysticks allow precise control of the machine functions, while giving the operator freedom of movement and maintaining a clear overview of the work process.
Simple and intuitive operation by a single operator.
On BTD machines, we refer to the complete movable structure on which the log rests as the press block. This press block is driven by a hydraulic cylinder and combines several functions within the sawing and splitting process.
The press block positions the log during processing and supports the controlled feeding and splitting of the wood. This allows the machine to operate efficiently and accurately.
The PROcompact-S is equipped as standard with a foldable extension for processing longer logs.
This allows logs up to 4 metres in length to be processed. The extension is integrated into the machine and can be folded away when not required. This keeps the overall width of the machine to 2.45 metres during transport on public roads.

Which vehicles are suitable for a BTD attachment firewood processor? Important factors are hydraulic oil flow, working pressure, lifting capacity, stability and a compatible mechanical attachment. The PROcompact requires at least 35 l/min, while PROcompact-S and PROplus require at least 55 l/min. Depending on the model, suitable carrier vehicles can include tractors, loaders, telehandlers, excavators and compact loaders.
BTD firewood processors allow the cutting length to be adjusted from 23 to 50 cm in 1 cm increments. The selected length is set precisely through the machine control system. Depending on the model and configuration, the SHORT/LONG function can reduce unnecessary cylinder travel when processing shorter firewood lengths, helping to improve cycle efficiency and production capacity.
The splitting knife determines how the log is divided and how efficiently the available splitting force is used. Depending on the model, BTD offers 4-, 6-, 8- and 12-way splitting knife options. The PROcompact is supplied with a 6-way knife as standard, the PROcompact-S with an 8-way knife and the PROplus with a 6-way knife. The best choice depends on wood species, log diameter, desired firewood size and production capacity.
The power required for an attachment firewood processor depends mainly on hydraulic oil flow, working pressure, lifting capacity and the stability of the carrier vehicle – not only on engine horsepower. The BTD PROcompact requires at least 35 l/min, while PROcompact-S and PROplus require at least 55 l/min. Depending on the model, the required working pressure is approximately 210–250 bar.
