The BTD TrailerPlus-M is a professional mobile trailer-mounted firewood processor, developed for users who want to combine high production capacity with maximum mobility and flexibility.

The machine combines the proven sawing and splitting technology of the BTD PROplus with its own 40 hp petrol engine, hydraulic system, log infeed and discharge conveyor in one complete mobile production unit.

With a processing capacity of approximately 5–10 m³ per hour, a maximum log diameter of 45 cm, splitting force of up to 20 tonnes and a maximum log length of 5 metres, the TrailerPlus-M is designed for professional firewood production at a wide range of locations.

Press block with positioning and splitting function

On BTD machines, we refer to the complete movable structure on which the log rests as the press block. This press block is driven by a hydraulic cylinder and combines several functions within the sawing and splitting process.

The press block positions the log during processing and supports the controlled feeding and splitting of the wood. This allows the machine to operate efficiently and accurately.

The TrailerPlus-M is equipped as standard with a press block suitable for logs up to 5 metres in length.

Efficient wood discharge with conveyor

For an optimal material flow, the BTD TrailerPlus-M is equipped with a robust conveyor system.

4-way splitting knife

For larger pieces of firewood, the TrailerPlus-M can optionally be equipped with a 4-way splitting knife. This splits each wood section into four pieces.

The splitting knife is hydraulically adjustable, allowing its position to be easily adjusted during operation.

The 6-way splitting knife divides each wood section into six pieces and is suitable for efficiently processing firewood into a practical size.

12-way splitting knife

The 12-way splitting knife divides each wood section into twelve pieces and is suitable when a finer firewood size is required.

The splitting knife is hydraulically adjustable, allowing its position to be easily adjusted during operation.

Optionally available for the TrailerPlus-M.

SHORT/LONG mode for higher processing speed

With the standard SHORT/LONG function, the TrailerPlus-M can be adjusted to the desired firewood length. The SHORT or LONG mode is easily selected via the controls.

For cutting lengths from 23 to 35 cm, the machine cycle can be optimised. Depending on the selected cutting length, this allows the TrailerPlus-M to operate approximately 20% faster.

Standard on the TrailerPlus-M and easily adjustable via the Siemens LOGO! control system.

Cut length easily adjustable

The desired firewood cut length can easily be set via the controls from 23 to 50 cm. This allows the TrailerPlus-M to be quickly adapted to different required wood lengths.

The selected cut length is shown on the Siemens LOGO! display. The setting can easily be adjusted for different wood sizes.

Independent drive and hydraulic system

The TrailerPlus-M is equipped with a fully independent drive system powered by a 40 hp Briggs & Stratton petrol engine with EFI and electric start. This means that no hydraulic carrier vehicle is required to power the firewood processor.

The engine drives a triple-pump system, which efficiently powers the machine’s various hydraulic functions. The hydraulic system has been specifically matched by BTD to the PROplus sawing and splitting technology.

The PROplus sawing and splitting technology, together with the drive engine, log lifter and discharge conveyor on an 80 km/h trailer, forms one complete, independently operated mobile production unit.

Operation of the TrailerPlus-M

The BTD TrailerPlus-M is designed for simple and efficient operation and is equipped with a swivelling control panel with two joysticks. This allows the controls to be optimally positioned for the operator’s working position and view of the machine.

All important sawing and splitting functions can be conveniently controlled from the control panel, including:

  • manual operation of all sawing and splitting functions;
  • automatic sawing and splitting cycle;
  • adjustable cut length;
  • SHORT/LONG function on/off;
  • emergency stop and reset function for the safety circuit.

In addition, the following auxiliary functions can be hydraulically and proportionally controlled:

  • log lifter;
  • conveyor operation and swivelling of the discharge conveyor;
  • opening and closing of the safety guard.

Mobile production unit with 80 km/h road approval

The BTD TrailerPlus-M is designed as a complete trailer-mounted mobile production unit. Thanks to its road approval up to 80 km/h, the machine can be moved quickly and easily between different work locations.

With a weight of approximately 2,500 kg, the TrailerPlus-M can be transported behind a suitable towing vehicle. On site, the machine has its own drive system, hydraulic system and discharge conveyor, so no separate carrier vehicle is required to power the firewood processor.

This makes the TrailerPlus-M particularly suitable for contractors, forestry companies, firewood producers and other professional users who regularly work at different locations.
