Under normal conditions, the TrailerPlus-M has a production capacity of approximately 5 to 10 m³ of firewood per hour. Under optimal conditions, a production rate of more than 10 m³ per hour can be achieved in practice.
However, the actual amount of firewood produced per hour does not depend solely on the speed of the machine. The complete production process plays an important role. Wood species, log diameter, the shape and quality of the logs, cut length, splitting settings and, above all, the supply and discharge of the wood all affect the final production capacity.
Straight logs with a relatively uniform diameter can generally be processed faster than heavily curved or branched logs. The required dimensions of the finished firewood also affect production capacity.
If the wood needs to be split more frequently, or if many different log diameters are processed one after another, more operations are required than with a consistent flow of similar logs.
A production capacity expressed in m³ per hour should therefore always be regarded as a practical value that depends on the conditions under which the machine is operating.
The TrailerPlus-M is based on the technology of the BTD PROplus and provides a splitting force of up to 20 tonnes. Logs with a diameter of up to 45 cm can be processed.
The combination of sawing and splitting technology is designed for the continuous processing of roundwood into ready-to-use firewood.
More information about the machine configuration, cut length, splitting knives and other technical features can be found in the technical specifications of the TrailerPlus-M.
If the machine has to wait for the next log, production also comes to a stop. A well-organised supply of roundwood is therefore essential.
The integrated log lifter supports the feeding of logs into the machine. When the roundwood is arranged logically in advance and can be supplied without unnecessary interruptions, the operator can maintain a much more consistent production process.
For professional users, it therefore makes sense to consider not only the capacity of the firewood processor itself, but also the organisation of the complete workflow.
The same principle applies at the other end of the machine. At high production rates, the split firewood must be discharged quickly enough to prevent interruptions.
For this reason, the TrailerPlus-M is equipped with a 5-metre-long and 60-cm-wide discharge conveyor that can be hydraulically swivelled. With a discharge height of up to 2.80 metres, even high-sided containers and trailers can be loaded.
By adjusting the position of the discharge conveyor to suit the working situation, the processed firewood can be directed efficiently to the required location.
In practice, BTD has found that the TrailerPlus-M can produce more than 10 m³ of firewood per hour under optimal conditions.
To achieve this, the machine and the complete workflow must be well coordinated: suitable roundwood, a continuous supply of logs, the appropriate splitting settings, an experienced operator and sufficient capacity to discharge the processed firewood.
A higher hourly production rate ultimately also affects the cost per produced m³ and therefore the return on the investment. Our ROI calculator for firewood processors can be used to make an indicative calculation.
