What is the difference between the TrailerPlus-M and an attachment firewood processor?

The main difference between the TrailerPlus-M and an attachment firewood processor is how the machine is powered and used. A BTD attachment firewood processor uses the hydraulic system and power supply of a suitable carrier vehicle. The TrailerPlus-M, on the other hand, has its own engine and hydraulic system and can therefore operate completely independently.

Both solutions have been developed for professional firewood production. The choice therefore mainly depends on the equipment available, the work locations and how the production process is organised.

An attachment firewood processor uses the carrier vehicle

The BTD PROcompact, PROcompact-S and PROplus are attachment firewood processors. They are connected to a suitable carrier vehicle, such as a tractor, crane or loader, which provides the power required to operate the machine.

This concept is particularly suitable when a company already has a suitable vehicle with sufficient hydraulic capacity. The carrier vehicle then becomes part of the complete production setup.

One advantage is that the firewood processor does not require a separate engine. The existing systems of the carrier vehicle are used to produce firewood professionally.

The TrailerPlus-M has its own drive system

With the TrailerPlus-M, BTD deliberately chose a different concept. The machine has its own 40 hp Briggs & Stratton petrol engine with EFI and an integrated hydraulic triple-pump system.

This means that no tractor, crane, loader or other carrier vehicle is required to power the machine during production. Together with its log lifter, sawing and splitting system and discharge conveyor, the TrailerPlus-M forms one self-contained production unit.

This is particularly beneficial when working regularly at different locations or when a tractor or other vehicle needs to remain available for other work within the business.

Mobility makes the difference in practice

The independent drive system is only part of the difference. From the outset, the TrailerPlus-M was developed as a mobile firewood processor.

The machine is mounted on a specially developed tandem-axle trailer chassis for road transport at speeds of up to 80 km/h and has a total weight of 2,500 kg. Depending on the permitted towing capacity, the machine can be transported to the work site using various suitable towing vehicles.

Once on site, the TrailerPlus-M is set up and can operate independently. The towing vehicle therefore does not need to remain connected to the machine as its power source.

Which BTD solution suits your workflow?

Users who already have a suitable carrier vehicle and can use it regularly for firewood production can work very efficiently with a BTD attachment firewood processor.

The TrailerPlus-M is particularly suitable when mobility, independent operation and flexibility between different work locations are important.

The difference therefore lies not only in the technology, but especially in the overall working concept: with an attachment firewood processor, the carrier vehicle and firewood processor together form the production unit, whereas the TrailerPlus-M itself forms the complete mobile production unit.
