What is the difference between the BTD PROcompact, PROcompact-S and PROplus?

The BTD PROcompact, PROcompact-S and PROplus are attachment firewood processors designed for different carrier vehicles, hydraulic capacities and production requirements.

PROcompact – compact and flexible

The PROcompact is the lightest model in the BTD range and is designed for smaller carrier vehicles with relatively limited hydraulic capacity.

Comparison table

Which carrier vehicle is suitable?

The correct carrier vehicle depends on more than engine horsepower. Important factors are hydraulic oil flow, working pressure, lifting capacity, stability and a compatible mechanical attachment.

In practice, suitable carrier vehicles can include tractors, loaders, telehandlers, excavators and compact loaders, depending on the selected BTD model and the specifications of the vehicle.

Hydraulic connection

The PROcompact, PROcompact-S and PROplus use the hydraulic system of the carrier vehicle. A correct hydraulic connection is therefore essential for safe and reliable operation.

The system requires:

• a pressure line;
• a return line with sufficiently low return pressure;
• a separate leak-oil connection.

The return pressure should remain within the permitted machine limits, and the leak-oil line must be connected separately according to the technical requirements.

Electrical and mechanical connection

The machine also requires the appropriate electrical supply and a mechanical attachment that matches the carrier vehicle.

Depending on the vehicle, BTD can supply or advise on suitable couplings, mounting solutions and connection sets.

Which model should you choose?

The correct model depends mainly on:

• the available hydraulic flow and pressure;
• the lifting capacity and stability of the carrier vehicle;
• the diameter and length of the logs;
• the required production capacity;
• the desired splitting knife configuration.
