Every BTD firewood processor is equipped with an automatic chain lubrication system.
It may seem like a small detail, but it makes a major difference in performance, maintenance, and lifetime.
This page explains why this system is so important.
During cutting, the chain is continuously lubricated by an integrated oiling system.
This system operates based on:
– An oil pump connected to the saw cylinder
– A separate, easily accessible oil reservoir that can be refilled
– Automatic and economical dosing through the bar’s lubrication channel – only active during the downward saw movement
The user does not need to lubricate manually during operation.
Less wear
Constant lubrication keeps the chain cooler and more resistant to wear, significantly extending its lifespan.
More safety
No need to service or lubricate the machine during operation – no risk of contact with moving parts.
Better cutting performance
A well-lubricated chain lasts longer, cuts faster and more smoothly, with less resistance.
Reduced maintenance downtime
Since the chain stays sharp and clean longer, you spend less time stopping for maintenance or replacement.
We recommend standard chain saw oil (100 or 150 cSt), specially formulated for saw chains.
– Never use standard hydraulic or engine oil.
– A level indicator allows easy oil refilling.
How often should I refill the reservoir?
During continuous operation, refill approximately every 3 hours (¾ litre, very economical). The reservoir is easily accessible.
Can I switch off or adjust the system?
No, the system is intentionally integrated to protect the chain and guide bar and automatically doses the oil as needed.
