Which vehicles are suitable for a BTD firewood processor?

A BTD firewood processor is mounted on the front of a vehicle.
But which vehicle is best suited for this?
This guide explains which machines can be used – from mini-excavators to large mobile excavators – and what to pay attention to.

What do you need?

Our firewood processors (PROcompact, PROcompact-S and PROplus) use:

– The vehicle’s hydraulic system (minimum 35 or 55 l/min)
– A pressure-free return and leak-oil line
– A 12 V power supply in the cab for operation and 12 V DC at the front lift frame
– A mechanical coupling (via welded plates or Euro pick-up)

Suitable vehicles for the PROcompact

The PROcompact is suitable for lighter vehicles with limited hydraulic capacity starting from 35 l/min:

– Mini-excavators (tracked or wheeled)
– Mini loaders
– Mini telehandlers
– Small tractors
– Skid steers

Hydraulic requirements:
– Minimum flow: 35 l/min
– Working pressure: 210 bar
– Machine weight: approx. 805 kg

Suitable vehicles for the PROcompact-S

The PROcompact-S is suitable for lighter to medium-duty vehicles with a hydraulic capacity of 55 l/min:

– Mini and midi-excavators (tracked or wheeled)
– Mini and midi-loaders
– Mini and midi-telehandlers
– Small to medium tractors
– Skid steers

Hydraulic requirements:
– Minimum flow: 55 l/min
– Working pressure: 210 bar
– Machine weight: approx. 870 kg

Suitable vehicles for the PROplus

The PROplus requires more power and is ideal for heavy-duty applications:

– Medium to large wheel loaders from 4.5 t
– Mobile excavators (from 10–12 t)
– Large telehandlers
– Heavy tractors from approx. 90 hp
– Skid steers

Hydraulic requirements:
– Minimum flow: 55 l/min
– Working pressure: 210–250 bar
– Machine weight: approx. 1 130 kg

– Keeping hydraulic hoses as short as possible
– Installing couplings close to the connection point
– Ensuring a stable mounting performed by a welding or engineering specialist
